ASPIRES ANNUAL MUSICAL

In 2023, Aspire introduced its very first in-house full-length musical, "Legally Blonde Jr." Students had the exciting opportunity to audition and take part in this production, which occurred beyond their regular class times. Participating in the musical allowed students to gain valuable insights into the various aspects of staging a show. "Legally Blonde" proved to be a tremendous hit with Mackay audiences, as both performances were sold out. In 2024, Aspire continued its musical journey with "We Will Rock You Young@part," staged in March. Students relished the chance to rock out to Queen's iconic tunes, resulting in a spectacular show that garnered rave reviews. Looking ahead, an exciting variety-style show has been announced as the Musical for 2025, titled Broadway Breakdowns. Have you ever pondered what Musical Theatre characters think about their own narratives? This will all be unveiled when the 2025 musical takes the stage, featuring songs from popular modern musicals like Wicked, Mamma Mia, Shrek, Addams Family, and many more.

The musical is optional and is run separately from weekly Drama and Musical Theatre classes.
